Where’s your ….?

Besides knowing where her big head is. Mckayla now knows her ears, mouth/teeth, and nose. She points to them when we ask her. She even knows her shoes since she loves putting them on and knows she gets to go out once the shoes are on her feet. She dislikes her socks and always try to [...]

Feeling Better?

MeiMei was feeling  much better when I got home from work yesterday. She was more tired than usual and didn’t bark when I walked in the door. But the wheezing was gone – at least when she’s not excited. By the time Ted got home from the airport, she was barking and running around when [...]

Teeth #9

Mckayla’s first molar, a.k.a. teeth #9, is out. It’s the upper molar on the right side. The white jagged edge is peaking through her gum. I hope the other three molars come out soon. Her gum looks very swollen in those spots and they look awfully painful.

Who are you?

We had a short visit from Margaret and Andre this weekend. Andre flew in on Saturday night and stayed for one night. Margaret flew in yesterday morning, then they both flew out yesterday afternoon for Colorado. Mckayla hasn’t seen Andre for a few months now (we missed him while we were in Taiwan) but she [...]

Pulmonary Edema

We woke up last night to MeiMei’s wheezing. She was coughing a little more than usual last two days and didn’t seem to improve even after we gave cough supressant for two days. Last night, I gave MeiMei her usual weekly bath while Ted gave Mckayla her bath. She was wheezing a little bit after the bath [...]

Cold + Two shots + Teething = ….

I took Mckayla in for two more vaccinations yesterday morning. She’s originally due for those two shots at 15 months, but since we’re traveling abroad soon, travel clinic nurse advised us to get them earlier. She didn’t realize we went in for the shots until the nurse took out the alcohol swabs. And the crying [...]

We’re Sick

When we took Mckayla in for her 12 month check up, her pedi told us to expect an average of two colds per month during the cold/flu season. We didn’t quite believe her at the time, but I guess she’s right. Mckayla got her second cold this month. She got sick right after her birthday but [...]

阿彌陀佛 Amitābha

My Mom had few visitors from her temple last week. Four monks were staying at the house and we were all on vegetarian diet at home, except for Mckayla and MeiMei. The way they greet each other is is to have palms open and facing each other and say “Amitābha”. My Mom has been teaching [...]

No shy at all

We went to Patricia/David’s baby shower earlier this afternoon. Mckayla was the oldest kid there when we first got to the party until Caden arrived later. She was a bit shy at the beginning in a new environment with not so familiar faces. But the phase of shyness did not last long at all. After [...]

Molars

During Mckayla’s 12 month check up today, her pedi confirmed teeth #9 is out. It’s the lower right molar and the white is already showing. Her other three molars are not out yet but her gum’s definitely swollen. Let’s hope this is the reason for the nightly wakings and it’ll stop soon as the teeth [...]
