Another sleepless night

We’re still dealing Mckayla not sleeping through the night. We’ve got her sleeping routine down – the falling asleep part, but still struggling with her sleeping through the night in her own crib. She’s been waking up in the middle of the night around 2 AM and refusing to go back to her own crib. [...]

Jie Jie

When I got home from work today, Nanny told Mckayla was very talkative and she kept saying “Jie Jie”. I couldn’t really figure out what she’s trying to say but then I realized Grandma K has been pointing at pictures on the wall when we were visiting. Mckayla was more interested in “kids” pictures and [...]

New Words

I tried to teach Mckayla sign language when she was about 6 months old. It was a bit early at the time and we didn’t see much progress. And we completely slacked off the past few months. I’ve tried to restart the process again but has made little progress. We’ve been teaching her a few [...]

Happy Birthday!

Today’s Ted’s birthday. Like he said, getting old and no longer “Magic Johnson”. We had a full table of delicious meal cooked by Grandma K. And even Mckayla got taste of the birthday cake brought by Uncle Tim – her favorite blueberries.

Lots of Babies

We met up with Stacy/Stephen and Henry/Helena for lunch today. It was a full table with six adults and four kids, youngest was Jayden (7 months), then Kaydence (11 months – 3 days younger than Mckayla), followed by Mckayla and Kaitlyn (2.5 yr old). The kids were fairly well behaved most of the time and [...]

Baby Aidan

We left Mckayla with Grandma K & Grandma K and snuck out to visit baby Aidan last night after dinner. He’s just barely 1 week old and is still so  tiny. When we got there, he just woke up from his nap and finished his feeding. He was wide awake and alert. He looks just like his [...]

I wanna walk!

Yesterady, I took Mckayla out for a walk in her stroller with MeiMei when I got home from work. MeiMei enjoyed her outing, sniffing around and took care of her business. We walked to the local elementary school and turned back. On our way back, Mckayla was getting very restless in her seat and kept wanting [...]

Getting Dressed

Getting Mckayla dressed has become a painstaking task. She refuses to sit still for even ten seconds. Whenever we take off her diaper, we have to chase after her to get it back on. Then we have to fight her to get her pants back on. Half the time, she’s running around with her pants unbuttoned [...]

Bye Bye

Mckayla got up early this morning. She beat my alarm clock and woke up crying at 6:30AM. I tried to put her back to sleep without success. So I quickly changed her diaper and handed her to Ted (who was enjoying his morning coffee while waiting for his ride) to give her the morning bottle [...]

Hyperactive sweat glands

Mckayla’s not a fan of heat. In hot summer days, especially in humid places, she breaks out in heat rash. The weather has cooled down in the Bay Area but still not cool enough for Mckayla. Earlier today when she woke up from her nap, her hair was completely wet. When I turned on the light [...]
