Ready for the new nanny?

Tomorrow is the first day for Mckayla’s new Nanny. I wanted her to start on Friday when I’m home so I can explain Mckayla’s schedule and show her where everything is without worried about rushing out the door to get to work on time. And also give Mckayla some to get to know the Nanny [...]

Grandma, Are you there?

Yesterday evening, I called my Mom after I got home from work. Then, I took Mckayla to Chipotle to pickup  our “free” burrito for dinner. Yes, free burrito for just flashing my Kaiser badge on Mondays for the month of August. They even packed a piece of warm tortilla for Mckayla and we paid NOTHING. It [...]

Daddy at Disney World

Ted left for his week long annual training in Orlando this morning. He’ll be in “training” in the hot humid weather in Disney World. But I’m sure he’ll have lots of fun, not only does he get to catch up with a bunch of coworkers, but also scuba dive (Disney World Epcot Center’s Living Seas [...]

Roseola

Mckayla had her 9-Month check up appointment today. Glad we had appointment today because she still had slight fever yesterday morning and was extremely cranky last night before she went to bed. This morning, while I was changing her, I noticed little red spots all over her torso and neck. On our drive to Kaiser, [...]

Everybody wants some cream puff

Jackie brought over some Beard Papa’s cream puff for post dinner dessert. She played with Mckayla while she was eating her cream puff. And apparently, Mckayla couldn’t resist them, too. She tried to grab them from Jackie’s hand. In attempt to avoid Mckayla’s monster like claws, Jackie had to move it around and above Mckayla’s [...]

Viral Infection

Mckayla’s fever continued to spike. This morning when she woke up at six, her temperature was up to 102F. So I gave her another dose of tylenol. She wasn’t very fussy but looked very tired and her eyes were watery and red. Called the advise nurse again at Kaiser and made an appointment for her [...]

Fever

When I got home from work yesterday, Nanny told me Mckayla was more fussy than usual and refused her solids. She had just woken up from nap and her forehead felt little warm. So I took her temperature, it was hard to get her on the stomach to check her rectal temperature. After a long [...]

Lesson from MeiMei

I’ve heard that kids learn from other kids. And having an older sibling around, the younger kid usually learns and reaches their developmental milestones earlier. And I think this also appies to having a dog at home. MeiMei and Mckayla spend most of their days together while we’re at work and even when we’re home. [...]

Drinking from the straw

Mckayla loves drinking water from our cup but it’s usually a chaotic mess. With water dripping down her chin, to her neck, then to her shirt. She’s been using sippy cup with a soft spout for a couple months now with some assistance. She hasn’t quite figure out that she has to tilt her head [...]

Attacked by MeiMei

MeiMei has an obsession with lotion. She loves to lick right after the lotion is applied to the skin, especially lotion with SPF. I’m not sure why, but maybe the SPF ingredient adds a special taste to it. Yesterday, I applied sunblock on Mckayla’s arms and face before we head out to lunch with Auntie [...]
